How to Remove Trojan shortcut Virus in USB Flash Drive
Recently, I encountered this strange situation that involves my flash
drive and external hard drive. To my amazement, all of my files were
gone and replaced by a flash drive shortcut virus itself. At first, I can click the shortcut and see all of files, but after (2) two days, I cannot open the shortcut
anymore, which means I lost access to my files. It's very annoying,
especially when you badly needed your files that very moment and you
just can't have it because of this Shortcut virus! Right?
How to remove Shortcut virus and recover your files?
Shortcut Virus, hides your files, but don't panic, I will be sharing you (2) methods of getting rid of it and on how to retrieve your files that's been hidden by it.
1st method:
Download these two tools, namely: Shortcut virus (trojan) remover and Shortcut virus fixfolder.
Now run the Shortcut virus trojan remover, make sure that you run it inside your flash drive, after that open the fix folder by right clicking it, choose "open with" and select "notepad".
Then change the drive letter with the drive letter of your flash drive,
save it. Take note, if the drive letter happens to be the same with
your flash drive's drive letter don't bother to change it, just close
and run it by double clicking the fix folder icon, now you should see a
folder.
2nd method:
You should proceed this method if the first one doesn't work. This involves a "command prompt". Now click "start", "run", "type cmd" "type the drive letter of your flash drive or external hardisk and a colon after it 'eg. E:'" Once done type this attribute "attrib d:\*.* /d /s -h -r -s". You should see your files now.
Please take note the d: after attrib, change it with your flash disk drive letter; if your flash drive, the drive letter is e: then change it with e:.
